lyrics
I wish I were a captain
A marine officer
Now I’m just a sailor on his twentieth ship
I wanted to find real love
And met some high class whore
Now I go with each dock girl I meet my friend
Saw my fellow on the ship to Mylae
He sailed through the morning haze
He vanished there, disappeared as smoke does into the air
Heard the sirens laughing
Smoked the pink isle weed
I’ve done so many things more than you miserable mates
Once I had a project and once I had a dream
Now it has been washed away by all those waves
My youth memories have gone
Through the ocean’s flow I go
I’m living there, home is nowhere, everywhere,
Oh where the gods desire
Oh where the gods desire
OH NEPTUNE CARRY ME ON, SOMEONE’S WAITING ME
LET MY BOOK OF FAITH BE WRITTEN, BY THE ABYSS SOUL
Now the winds are blowing,
Now the air is ice
Now the winds are taking me away from you
Nightmares have a sad face
Nightmares have my gaze
I’ll accept them as I did with all my vices
OH NEPTUNE CARRY ME ON, SOMEONE’S WAITING ME
LET MY BOOK OF FAITH BE WRITTEN, BY THE ABYSS SOUL

This is extremely interesting. Ostensibly hard rock with a 70s psych flavor, there is really something else going on. The vocals have a jazzy flavor, and the production really makes me think of an unusual yet killer band called Reptile Palace Orchestra- a sort of anything-goes, artsy, avant-garde, almost ‘world’ mish-mash of orchestra and rock. Yet this isn’t that, which the shredding guitar and rock rhythms ensure. Whatever this is, it is brilliant. Lute FP
I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But SPIRAL GURU's cool 70s influenced psychedelic rock even rocks a bit more. Usually this is not my genre, stuf like Spiritual Beggars or the like, but SPIRAL GURU is definitely charming, maybe because of the female vocals. Further the songs are not too psychedelic, they have a solid catchiness. Check "Signs" or "Oracle". H.L.
Italian stoner powerhouse Tenebra has the heft of Sabbath and the hooks of Saint Vitus in their powerfully imposing tunes. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2022
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
This album is tight as a drum, the guitar tones are to die for. The sum of its parts add up to monster rock. I believe this band's fingers bleed! Stevee
